Chuck Greenberg, the Pittsburgh sports attorney who has partnered with Nolan Ryan and is attempting to purchase the Texas Rangers, has posted a message on his Facebook page regarding today's auction for the purchase of the club, and with it, sees an interesting day in history that coincides with his partner, Nolan Ryan. Greenberg writes:

Big day ahead. We've had the best bid and strongest ownership group all along, and today we demonstrate it once and for all. Thanks to everyone for your support. I can't tell you how much Nolan and I appreciate it. Now its time to bring it on home. See you at the ballpark for the Yankees next week...by the way, on this day in Rangers history in 1993, Robin Ventura paid a visit to Nolan on the mound. So step on up...
